Both Persono Suite and P.U.R.E software may be use with Plantronics Savi Office Wireless headsets to support various phone vendors’ softphones. As a quick comparison, Persono Suite is easier to use and provides an on-screen user interface, whereas P.U.R.E. supports more softphones and runs in the background, accessible only from the PC System Programs panel).

P.U.R.E. stands for Plantronics Unified Runtime Engine. It is the next generation Plantronics software replacing PerSonoCall and PerSono Suite. Detailed information may be found at this link.

Basically, PURE enables two headset features with compatible soft phones:

  • Remote ring detection.
  • Remote answer/end.

Currently, the following softphones are supported:

  • Avaya one-X Agent V2.0

  • Shoretel Call Manager 10.2
  • ShoreTel Communicator 11.0
  • Skype V5.0

PerSono Suite software is supplied with Savi Office systems. Though your Savi Office will operate without the software running, it will limit the system’s capabilities.

The software allows you to do the following with your Savi Office system:

• Answer/end calls from the PC remotely with the headset (requires use of supported softphone)
• Mute/mix audio paths between the headset/desk phone/PC via a clickable interactive Audio Control Screen.
• Customize your headset and base settings to your personal preferences
• Automatically manage your PC multimedia so you never miss a call
• Quickly access links to product support and software/firmware upgrade information

The following softphones are supported:

  • Avaya IP Softphone R5.2, SP5
  • Avaya IP Agent V7.0
  • Avaya one-X Communicator V1.0
  • Cisco IP Communicator V2.1.2.4
  • Microsoft® Office Communicator 2007 and Microsoft® Lync™ 2010
  • Skype V4.0
